StreetLight began in 2014 in a dusty old warehouse with a simple vision: to create a safe, welcoming place where young people could belong.

Since then, StreetLight has grown into much more than an indoor skatepark and café. Over the years, we’ve changed, adapted and expanded, but the heart behind it has stayed the same — supporting people, building community and creating a place where everyone feels welcome.

We’ve had the privilege of watching children first walk through our doors at six or seven years old, nervous and unsure, before finding confidence, friendships and a genuine sense of belonging. Many have grown up with StreetLight, progressing from beginners in the skatepark to young adults who still consider this place a second home.

For some families, StreetLight has simply been somewhere fun to spend an afternoon. For others, it has meant far more.

Parents have told us how important it is to know their child has somewhere safe to go, particularly when school, friendships or life feel difficult. A place where they can laugh, play, ride, talk and be themselves. Somewhere affordable enough that families can keep coming back.

Today, StreetLight continues to grow, with our café, skatepark, soft play, roleplay village, youth work and community activities all under one roof.

But StreetLight has never really been about the building.

It’s about the people who walk through the doors.

It’s a community. A place to belong. And for many, a second home.
