Job Specification for Centre Manager:

ROLE OVERVIEW
StreetLight is a Christian project based in Wimborne, Dorset. The aim is to share the gospel with young people, adults and families through a community centre, indoor skate park, soft play and cafe set up by the StreetLight project in March 2014.
The Project is seeking a Centre Manager to join the team, in a full time role. You will work alongside the Project Director, apprentices and Trustees as well as the volunteers that help at the centre.
The successful candidate will be a person with a strong relationship with Jesus who loves people, is outgoing and able to communicate easily with people of all backgrounds, ages and stages. This person will have pastoral and caring nature, and a heart for those in need as well as practical skills and relevant experience.
AIMS OF THE APPOINTMENT

To manage the Centre on a day-to-day basis.
-
To work alongside the Project Director, apprentices, Trustees and volunteers.
-
To develop commercially the StreetLight café and Skate park.
HOURS
40 hours per week (with a requirement to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for the successful fulfilment of the role).
Probationary Period
The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period, the receipt of satisfactory references and the successful outcome of a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Holiday
Holidays - 28 days per annum annual leave including Bank Holidays.

LINE MANAGER
Accountable to the Project Director.
Job description
The person will be responsible for the following activities:

Managing the café and skate park, including such activities as stock control, daily book keeping/POS system, café/skatepark/cleaning rota’s, providing visible leadership to Centre staff/volunteers (ensuring they are motivated, trained and operate to the high standards expected). This includes training our apprentice team.

Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including but not limited to safe guarding/health and safety legislation, hygiene, fire prevention, first aid and skate park maintenance/safety and keep appropriate records.

Administration and office management (controlling and managing enquiries, organising and running private hires/events). This will be working along side the administrator

Promotion of the Centre, including supporting marketing activities and outreach to local schools, churches and community groups. Maintaining a clear customer focus and high visibility within the Centre, proactively developing high standards of customer care.

Be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant EC directives. For your personal development: identifying, discussing and meeting the training and development requirements of your job role.

With the Trustees and Project Director, review sales performance regularly, agree targets for improvements, identify strategies for retaining and attracting new customers and building sales and profitability.

Job Specification for Operations Administrator:

The Project is seeking an Operations administrator to join the team, in a part time role. You will work alongside the Project Director, centre manager, apprentices and Trustees as well as the volunteers that help at the centre.
The successful candidate will be a person who loves people, is outgoing and able to communicate easily with people of all backgrounds, ages and stages. This person will have pastoral skills, as well as practical skills and relevant experience.

AIMS OF THE APPOINTMENT

To oversea the running of the office

To respond to emails, phone calls and messages

Take and plan booking, hires and events
-
Oversee the dad to day cash handling, grant applications and day to day finance.

To work alongside the Project Director, centre manager, apprentices, Trustees and volunteers.
HOURS
8 hours per week (with a requirement to work from the StreetLight Centre office.)
