Streetlight Centre – Terms & Conditions of Use

These Terms & Conditions apply to all visitors using any part of the Streetlight Centre, including the skatepark, café and soft play area. By entering and using our facilities, you agree to follow the guidelines outlined below and to comply with any additional instructions given by staff or displayed on signage.

Our primary concern is your safety. These policies are in place to protect all visitors and ensure a welcoming and respectful environment.


1. General Centre Policies

  • The StreetLight Centre is operated by trained staff who are fully DBS checked.

  • CCTV operates throughout the skatepark, café, and soft play area for safety and security.

  • A qualified First Aider is present on-site whenever the skatepark is open to the public.

  • Risk assessments are in place and daily safety checks are carried out across all areas.

  • Our public liability insurance covers up to £5 million.

Visitors are expected to behave respectfully. Any behaviour that endangers others, is aggressive, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or disruptive will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the premises or suspension from future activities. No refunds will be issued in such cases. StreetLight reserves the right to refuse entry or service where behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate. 

Smoking, vaping, alcohol, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises, including the outdoor areas.


2. Skatepark Terms of Use

Supervision & Eligibility:

  • All participants must have a completed waiver and medical consent form before using the skatepark.

  • Children under 6 years may only use the skatepark (e.g. for scooting or balance bikes) with active supervision from an adult (18+) at a maximum ratio of 5 children per adult at the designated times.

  • A parent or guardian must accept responsibility for any minor (under 18) regarding their conduct and safety while on the premises.

  • A parent or guardian remains responsible for any minor (under 18) using the Centre unless alternative arrangements have been clearly communicated for a specific StreetLight activity. If a child aged 6–17 is left unattended, this is at the parent or guardian’s own risk. Staff and volunteers are present to support the safe running of activities but do not provide childcare unless expressly stated.

Safety Equipment & Conduct:

  • Helmets are mandatory for under 18s and strongly recommended for adults.

  • Wrist guards and knee pads are strongly recommended but not compulsory.

  • Participants must not ride with any temporary cast, brace, sling, or other medical support. Please consult staff for clarification if needed.

  • If a participant sustains a head injury, they must refrain from returning to the park for at least 5 days, following medical guidance.

Equipment Guidelines:

  • All scooters and BMX bikes must have bar end caps.

  • Only solid-framed scooters are permitted.

  • Three-wheeled scooters are only for use by under 6s on the main skatepark in designated areas.

  • Personal equipment must be in good working order.

Park Rules:

  • No food or drink is allowed inside the skatepark – please use the café or designated seating areas.

  • Only riders, marshals, and staff are permitted within the skatepark area. Spectators may view from the café.

  • Riding under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.

  • Unsafe, reckless, or disrespectful behaviour may result in removal from the Centre.

  • All participants ride at their own risk and accept the inherent dangers involved in action sports.

  • StreetLight is not responsible for direct supervision of riders, but staff and volunteers are on hand to support in case of incident.

  • All participants are responsible for notifying StreetLight staff of any relevant medical conditions or changes to health.


3. Soft Play Area Terms of Use

  • The soft play area is designed for children aged 0–5 years only.

  • Parents and carers are required to supervise their children at all times while in the soft play area.

  • StreetLight staff are not responsible for supervising children in soft play – full responsibility lies with the parent or carer.

  • Shoes must be removed before entering. Socks must be worn.

  • No food, drink, or sharp objects are allowed inside the soft play structure.

  • Children who are unwell should not use the facility.

  • Unsafe or rough play may result in a child being asked to leave the area.

  • The maximum capacity for the soft play area is 20

  • Booking must be made online for all soft play sessions


4. Café and Viewing Area

  • The café is open to all guests during normal operating hours.

  • Please ensure that café staff are made aware of any allergies, intolerances, or dietary requirements when ordering food and drink. While every effort will be made to accommodate dietary needs, StreetLight cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment due to the nature of food preparation and handling.

  • Menu items and availability may change from time to time due to seasonal variation, supplier availability, or to reflect specific events, clubs, or activities taking place at the Centre. Any changes or limited menus will be clearly displayed.

  • Only skaters, marshals, and staff are permitted inside the skatepark itself; spectators must remain in the café or designated viewing areas.

  • Outside food and drink may not be brought into the Centre unless agreed in advance with staff and only in circumstances where dietary requirements cannot reasonably be accommodated by StreetLight.

  • Children must be supervised at all times and must not run, climb on furniture, or disrupt other visitors.

  • Hot drinks must not be taken into the skatepark or soft play areas.

  • Please use the designated baby changing facilities in the downstairs toilets. Nappy changing should not take place in café or seating areas to maintain hygiene and safety for all users.


5. Medical Emergencies & First Aid

  • Trained first aiders are available on-site. Please alert a member of staff immediately in the event of an accident or medical concern.

  • By using the Centre, you consent to first aid being administered and, where necessary, to the calling of emergency services.

  • Emergency contact details and medical details must be kept up to date and submitted on consent forms for all activities.


6. Photography, Filming & Privacy

  • CCTV is used throughout the Centre for safeguarding and monitoring purposes.

  • Photos and videos may be taken by staff for promotional use on StreetLight’s website and social media. If you do not wish to be included, please speak to a staff member.

  • Personal photography is permitted in public areas but must respect others’ privacy.


7. Disclaimer

Skateboarding, scootering, inline skating, and BMX riding are high-risk activities. Participation is entirely at your own risk.

By signing this waiver and entering the premises, you accept full responsibility for your involvement and understand that injury may occur despite all safety precautions in place.

Streetlight Centre is not liable for injuries, loss of personal items, or accidents unless caused by proven negligence.
